all the students 与 all of the students 在语义上有无区别?

两者在语义上并没有什么区别。许多语言学家把它们两者看作是同义结构：

  1. All(of) the children were working hard. (CGEL) 所有的孩子学习都很努力。

  2. All(of) the cups are white. (EGS) 所有的杯子都是白色的。

all(of)the + 名词结构中的 the，可以由 this，that，these，those，his(my...)等所代替：

  1. Take all these books. (EGS) 把这些书都拿走。

  2. Take all this money. (EGS) 把这儿的所有的钱都拿走。

请问 All of the members 果真是错误用法, 因而必须改为 All the members 吗?

实际上，all of the members 和 all the members 都是正确的用法，而且在语义上并没有什么区别。因此，上面的所谓改错题实际上并没有什么错误。例如：

Have you drunk all(of) the milk? (CIDE) 你把牛奶全都喝完了吗?
