书上给的答案是 B(lit up)。我同意这一答案,但是,我认为 C(lighted up)也是同样正确的。不知您的看法如何?

同意你的看法。虽然《新英汉词典》、ALD、LDCE等词典的例句都是 the face（the eyes）lit up，但这并不等于说 the face（the eyes）lighted up 就是错误的。实际上这两种用法是并存的。请考察下面的实例：

If your face or eyes lighted up, you suddenly look very happy. EG His face lit up at the sight of Cynthia. (EED) 如果你的面孔或眼睛 lighted up, 那就是说你突然显得很高兴。例如, 他一看到辛西雅, 他的面孔就亮了起来。
Her face lit up with happiness(pleasure). (NAECD) 她脸上露出幸福(愉快)的笑容。
“Why it's you!” Catherine said. Her face lighted up. (Hemingway) “怎么会是你!”凯瑟琳叫道,她的脸上露出了笑容。
Sue's face lighted up when she heard the good news. (MD) 当秀听到这个好消息时，她的脸上露出了笑容。

我对以上解释持有不同意见。我认为第一个句子并没有什么错误，因此，没有必要修改。

《朗文英语正误词典》上的说法不够精确。精确的说法应当是: light 的过去时常常用 lit。要知道, light 的过去时有时也用 lighted。请考虑下面的实例：

He lighted his cigarette, said good night, and went on. (London) 他点燃香烟，说声“晚安”就走了。
She went into the drawing-room and lighted the fire. (Mansfield) 她走进客厅，点着火。
One large lamp lighted the room. (MD) 一盏大电灯照亮了房间。
The beam lighted the ship into the harbor. (MD) 灯光照耀着轮船驶进码头。
Her face lighted when she saw who it was. (Sinclair) 当她看清是谁后脸上放出了光彩。
He lighted up before speaking. (RCD) 讲话之前他先笑了笑。
Hundreds of candles lighted up the ballroom. (RCD) 许许多多的蜡烛照亮了舞厅。
