stick sth./doing sth. 主要是指“忍受”“容忍”：

  1. I can't stick this dull job any longer. 这种枯燥的工作我无法再忍受下去。

  2. I won't stick your rudeness any longer. 我再也不能容忍你这种粗暴行为。

stick at sth. 则是指“坚持”“继续努力做某事(如学习、工作、写作、练习等)”:

  1. Learning any skill is largely a matter of sticking at it until you can do it better. 学习任何技能在很大程度上是一个需要坚持下去直到能够做好为止的问题。

虽然 stick to, insist on 和 persist in 的常见译法都是“坚持”，但是它们的意义和用法是有区别的。

stick to 后接名词或代词时是指“遵守”“信守”“不放弃”“坚守”“坚持”“坚持干”常与表示“真理”“原则”“观点”“决定”“计划”“理论”的词语连用：

  1. We've decided to stick to our previous plan. 我们已决定坚持原来的计划。

  2. If you stick to the truth, you've nothing to fear. 如果你坚持真理,你就没有什么可怕的。

  3. He stuck to it and eventually finished the job. 他坚持干,终于把这个活干完了。

  4. He is sticking to his principles in this matter. 在这件事上他坚持他的原则。
