pleased

（be）pleased 后跟介词 at 的用法是正确的。CGEL 明确指出在形容词 pleased 之后可以

使用 at, about 和 with。

1. She was pleased at having such a nice, quiet roomer. 她很高兴有这样一位安静的好房客。

2. He smiled, pleased at my surprise. 他微笑了，对我的惊奇感到很得意。

3. He looks rather pleased with himself, pleased with what he has done. 他看起来对自己，对自己做的事颇为得意。

4. Are you pleased with your new car? 你对你的新汽车感到满意吗？

5. “She’s given up that boyfriend of hers.” “I’m pleased about that.” “她放弃了她的那个男朋友。”“我对此很高兴。”

（be）pleased with 与（be）pleased at 有一个区别：前者既可以跟表物的名词（代词），也可以跟表人的名词（代词），而后者则只能跟表事或物的名词。

1. Are you pleased with your new watch? 你的新手表你满意吗？

2. Your mother will be very pleased with you. 你母亲将对你十分满意。

3. We are pleased at the election result. 我们对选举结果感到很高兴。

当与表事或物的名词连用时, pleased with 与 pleased at 并没有多大区别:

1. They were all very pleased with the news. 他们听到那个消息都非常高兴。

2. We are pleased with/at what he has said. 我们对他所说的话感到高兴。

由此看来,上面的试题是不妥当的。

可以把动词不定式 to see 看作是形容词 pleased 的补足语(有的英语著作把动词不定式看作是状语), 见 sure (glad) that。
