不对。应当选 B。因为在问句中含有 like to, love to, try to, want to, hope to, hate to, wish to, intend to 时，在答语中必须保留动词不定式符号 to(参见 would like/would like to, need to)。

上句中的 intend to 能否换为 mean to?
intend to do 与 mean to do 都表示“打算”“有……意图”“意欲”，但是，mean to do 更多用于口语体中：
I mean to go, and nothing is going to stop me. 我要走了，什么事情也阻挡不了我。
She means to succeed. 她立意取得成功。
I hear they intend to marry/intend marrying. 听说他们打算结婚了。
另外, intend to do 与 intend doing 同义, 而 mean to do 与 mean doing 的意义不同, 见 mean , intend 。

有的英语著作把 intend 归到只接动词不定式的动词类别中去。它果真不能接动名词吗？
从惯用法上看，动词 intend 既可以用动词不定式作宾语，也可以用动名词作宾语。但是，从语言事实上看，intend 后接带 to 的动词不定式的情况较多，加之，许多英语词典没有列出 intend 后接动名词的实例，以致有的作者误认为 intend 只能接动词不定式。其实，intend 也可以接动名词。下面的实例可以证明我们的说法：
I intend to visit Australia this year. 我打算今年访问澳大利亚。
I intend coming[to come] back soon. 我想很快就回去。
What do you intend doing[ to do ]? 你想做什么?
I didn't intend coming to Germany to work. 我没有打算去德国工作。
We intend taking immediate action. 我们打算立即采取行动。
. . . the hotel in which they intended staying. ……他们想住宿的那家旅馆。
I intend telling[to tell] her what I think. 我打算告诉她我的想法。
had intended/intended to have done/intended to do
I had intended to speak. 与 I intended to have spoken. 是否都表示“本打算发言”？
在表达“未实现的打算”时,通常采用 had intended to do 的句式,但是,亦可采用 intended to have done 或 intended to do 的句式:
I had intended to speak, but time did not permit. 我本来想发言,但是时间不允许。
I intended to have called on you, but... 我本打算去拜访你,但……
intend for... to do/be

我查遍了所有的词典也没有查到 intend for... to do/be 的用法。是否应改为...intended the future of His Church to be...?
动词 intend 的最常见用法是 intend to do/doing 和 intend sb. to do。英语词典和一般的英语语法书都没有收入 intend for... to do 的用法。Longman Dictionary of the English Language 甚至判定这一用法是错误的: 不可以说 I didn't intend for her to hear. Marrian Webster's Dictionary of English Usage 则说在文献中没有找到这一用法的实例。但是, 我们却在美国出版的畅销书中不时遇到这一用法的实例。1999 年出版的 Longman Grammer of Spoken and Written English 也承认了这一用法的正确性 (p.702)。
