英语里有一些形容词可以放在数字之后或复数名词之后，以表达对数字的评估，例如twenty odd years或twenty years odd（20多年），for three clear days或for three days clear（整整3天时间），at 7 o'clock sharp（七点整）。flat也属于此种用法的形容词之列（有人把后置的形容词看作是副词）。它的意思是“整”“不多不少”“恰好”，有时表示“时间出乎意料的短”。请看下面的实例：
