×If you can carry those books, I'll bring these ones.《朗文英语正误词典》(p.280)在分析这个句子中的错误时说：“在可以用作代词的词后面，不用one/ones”。那么，this one又该如何解释呢？又，《英语惯用法大词典》(p.1342)也说：“不可说these(those)ones，但可以说these(those)new ones”。真是这样吗？

可以这样来解释:在英语里人们通常说 this one, that one, 而较少说 those ones, these ones。在后一情形下只说 those 和 these 就可以了。但是, 在英国英语里, these ones 和 those ones 也是正确的用法:

Those apples are sweeter than these. (CGEL) 那些苹果比这些甜。
Those ones I like. (CGEL) 那些我喜欢。
Could I have those ones, please? (CIDE) 我可以有那些吗? (参见 those/those ones)

答案为 B。但是,我不明白为什么不可以选 D。ones 和 those 不是都可以用作替代词,来代替前面的复数吗?

ones 与 those 用作替代词时有一个本质上的区别: 前者代替含零冠词(无冠词)的复数名词(表达谈话双方不能共同确认具体所指的人或物), 后者代替带有定冠词的名词(表达谈话双方共同确认具体所指的人或物)。在上面的句子里, light objects 是不带定冠词的名词短语, 故不能用 those 来代替, 而必须使用 ones。

另外，从语法特点上看，those 不能接受前置修饰，而只能接受后置修饰。因此，light (red, blue) those 的搭配是错误的。而 ones 既可接受前置修饰又可接受后置修饰，故 light ones 是正确的。
