《英文惯用语用法手册》(外语学习社, p. 101)说：“如果用了‘one’，后面的代名词，须用‘one’s’和它相应，万不可用‘he’或‘his’等代名词”。 英语的实际使用情况确实如此吗？

该书作者所提到的用法只是英国英语的用法。在英国英语中，确实是使用 one...one (one's) 这种用法（我国出版的辞书只收入了这一用法）：
- One should do one's duty. (NAECD) 人人应当尽职尽责。
- One should choose one's friends carefully. (CGEL) 人应当仔细地选择自己的朋友。
- One does well what one likes to do. 人对于所喜欢的事情就能做好。但是，在美国英语中却往往采用 one...he(his) 这样的用法：
- One should choose his friends carefully. (CGEL) 人应当仔细地选择自己的朋友。
- One cannot succeed unless he tries hard. (Leech) 不努力试一试, 是不会成功的。
- One must be careful about his investments. (CGEL) 对于投资必须特别小心。 In order to obtain a driver's license in this state, one has to present your birth certificate as proof of age. (TOEFL) (the) one (ones)
