just/just now

对于初学英语的人,这么讲是可以的。但是,对于有较高水平的英语学习者,则应讲得更详细一些。

A. just 作“刚刚”“刚才”解时,动词一般使用现在完成时,但是在美国英语里也可以使用过去时;有时候还可以使用一般现在时:

1. He's just stopped talking. (CGEL) 他刚结束谈话。

2. What you've just told me is very surprising. (Maugham) 你刚才告诉我的事是很令人吃惊的。

3. He just went out. (CGEL) 他刚出去。

4. He was just here. (《新英汉辞典》) 他刚才还在这里。

5. He just spoke to me about it. (CGEL) 他刚刚跟我说了那件事。

6. I am just out of hospital. (ELD) 我刚刚出院。

7. I'm only just home from Oxford. (Yeats) 我刚从牛津大学回家。如果整个时间背景指过去，则现在完成时前移为过去完成时：

When I saw her, she had just come back. (CGEL) 当我看到她时她刚刚回来。

B. 当 just 作“很快”(very soon)、“过一会儿”(in a moment or so) 解时, 动词可以使用现在进

行时或将来时：

1. He is just coming. (CGEL) 他过一会儿就来。
2. I'm just finishing an article on the subject. (CGEL) 我很快就会写完一篇关于这个题目的论文。 C. 当 just now 作“刚刚”“刚才”(a moment ago or so) 解时, 动词应当使用一般过去时:
3. Paul telephoned just now; he wants some money. (LDAE) 保罗刚才打电话来;他想要一些钱。
4. I saw him just now. (Palmer) 我刚才看见他了。
5. Where is Smith? He was here just now. (ALD) 史密斯在哪儿？他刚才在这儿了。 D. 当 just now 作“现在”“此刻”(at this moment) 解时, 动词一般使用一般现在时或现在进行时:
6. Just now they are asleep. (ELD) 他们正在睡觉。
7. We're having dinner just now; come back later. (LDAE) 我们正在吃饭；等一会儿来吧。 E. 当 just now 作“很快”(very soon)、“一会儿”(in a moment or so) 解时, 动词常常使用现在进行时或将来进行时: $\left. \begin{array}{l} \text {I'm} \\ \text {I'll be} \end{array} \right\}$ seeing her just now. 我一会儿就去看她。
