我也认为 C 是对的。该书编者把 C 排除在正确答案之外的理由是“neither... 是表示联合关系的”。对此我们不敢苟同。正像 CGEL 的作者们所指出的，neither... nor 具有分离含义：
约翰和玛丽都没有获奖(CGEL的作者们指出，这个例子毫无疑义地是分离性的，它指的显然是两份奖的问题)。

CGEL 的作者们认为句(A)比句(B)更为自然。
在研究上面的试题时,还必须考虑到另一个因素:接近原则。由于 the students 与谓语动词最靠近,所以动词使用复数是很自然的。
