nothing to do/to be done

有时候，用动词不定式的被动形式作定语与用动词不定式的主动形式作定语，意思是相同的或相近的。例如，There's a lot of work to do/to be done. 但是，There's nothing to do. 与 There's nothing to be done. 的意思却迥然不同。前者是指“无事可做”，后者则是指“没有办法”。(参见 infinitive $^{7-10}$ )
