there being 是 there be 的非谓语形式(非限定形式),其中的 being 可能是现在分词(如句[1]),也可能是动名词(如句[2]),依其在句中的句法地位而定。在前一情况下,there being 主要用作原因状语或条件状语;在后一情况下,主要用作主语,宾语或介词宾语。请看下面的实例:

There being no further business, I declare the meeting closed. (LEG) (原因状语) 由于没有其它事情,我宣布散会。
A body can move uniformly and in a straight line, there being no cause to change that motion. (条件状语) 如果没有改变物体运动的原因,那么物体将作匀速直线运动。
There being a bus stop so near the house is a great advantage. (做主语) 公共汽车站离家这么近, 是一个很有利的条件。
