2.8 其他用冠词的场合
这些场合包括：
一、形容词或副词的最高级、序数词，以及only用作形容词后接名词时，它们的前面一般要用the。
请看例句：
1 the only/best way to cope with the problem 解决这个问题的唯一/最好的方法
2 This is the first time I've come to Beijing. 这是我第一次来北京。
二、在乐器、乐团、合唱团及流行音乐团体前加the
3 the Beatles “甲壳虫”乐队
4 the Philadelphia Orchestra 费城管弦乐队
5 play/learn the guitar 弹/学吉他
6 learn the piano 学钢琴
注意：运动项目前不加the。比如：play chess, play football/basketball/table tennis等。
三、定冠词the与姓氏连用
我们可以把定冠词the与姓氏连用，然后要在姓氏的后面添加复数-s。比如：
7 the Smiths
这类短语要表达的意思主要有两种：一是表示夫妇两人（husband and wife），二是可以表示一家人，即包括孩子在内（including children）。所以，the Smiths可以表示“史密斯夫妇”，也可以表示“史密斯一家人”。具体的意思可依据上下文而定。
此外，如果是名门望族的姓氏，则除了表示上述两个意思之外，往往还表示整个家族。比如：
8 the Kennedys
这个短语虽然可以表示“肯尼迪总统夫妇”或“肯尼迪总统全家人”，但实际上往往是表示“肯尼迪家族”。
再比如：
9 the Bushes
这个短语可以表示“布什总统夫妇”或“布什总统全家人”，也可以表示“布什家族”，包括与老布什和小布什总统有关的所有亲人。
四、表示强调时，会用the
